THE STING
1973
Starring Paul Newman, Robert Redford
and Robert Shaw.

This is one of Shaw's most menacing roles.
In every scene he portrays the mob boss
with the perfect frightening demeanor.

Here Shaw plays mister big in a scene very similar
to a scene in the Godfather which came out later.

Robert Shaw smiles as he lays down four nines
in a game of poker.

His expression changes when Newman lays down
four jacks.

Shaw wants to kill Newman now.

Beating up Robert Redford. How many husbands
have wanted to do that?

Shaw and Redford discuss a phoney plot against
Paul Newman.

A great shot of Shaw as the Mobster Lonnigan
waiting for a phone call from Redford's phoney
partner.

Another great shot of Shaw as Lonnigan.

Newman warns his man that Lonnigan has a rep
for betting money he doesn't have.

Shaw insists on meeting Redford's partner.

Redford is killed in a phoney murder scene and it's
time for the law to get the rich mobster out of there.
